What happens when the power of Speilberg and Jackson, collide with the legacy of Tintin? You get this! Here are some images found on the net and Empire magazine.

What do you think? Was the collision worth it?
Want to know what Luma Arcade has been up to the last couple of months?! Well check out the movie!
Here are a few words from Luma Arcade about the game:
The Harvest has been designed from the ground up to be the best looking 3D mobile phone game to date, with innovative touch screen gameplay that brings Action RPG games on mobile devices out of the dark ages. Players are immediately immersed in an Action RPG game experience tailored to mobile phones, taking all the best from the genre, while removing the tedium and repetitiveness that is usually associated with games of this nature. At the same time, they are immersed into a deep and intriguing story that will leave them wanting to find out more.

This is a music video directed by Saman Keshavarz. Awesome stuff. Actress is Darcy Ripley who also happens to be a brilliant artist herself. This video won SXSW Best Music Video 2010 and featured on Saatchi & Saatchi’s New Director’s Showcase 2010. Well done Darcy! More credits on Vimeo.
This is the official Esther’s’ video directed by Charles De Meyer. Very nice CG integration and an interesting subtle style of animation! I would really like to see the composite files!
The future of screen technology you say?! Hmmm, looks awesome to me! Can’t wait for Luma Arcade to develop some games for this one day!
Here is the trailer for the new Green Hornet film. Hmmmm, maybe, maybe not. Let’s wait and see!
It is however directed by Michel Gondry! So here is hoping for a good movie experience!
Loving this McBess app for the iPad! Support the guy! Check out his amazing artwork on his website.
Hopefully we can do something with McBess…maybe a McBess iPhone/iPad game??
Luma Arcade should fit the picture!

Dan Beckemeyer has some yummy “food inspired fonts.” Check out more on his Behance page!
We decided to try something different, so leaving the world of animation and design for a brief moment, we went out and shot a “Road trip” video with the new MINI Countryman. This was a campaign for MINI that followed 4 friends and their adventures to the soccer world cup.
It was by no means an easy task, as we had to be super careful as this was the only MINI Countryman in South Africa. We shot 16 locations in 3 days. Enjoy the video below.
Thanks to MINI for letting us have so much fun and to Ukutula Lion Park for letting us play with the cutest lion cubs and serving the best lunch.

Wow, a new way of game development.
So, just to interrupt Jason’s posting fest, have a laugh with this funny TV ad for the new racing game BLUR.
It’s good to be back!
Blur does it again, with an amazing FMV trailer for the new DC Universe Online. Well done!
When you combine David Fincher, Blur and Dark Horse comics, prepare for some CGI horror yummyness!
The Goon is a comic book series created by Eric Powell in 1999. The story is about the adventures of the Goon, a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio. The Goon (and his sidekick Franky) often get tied up in other machinations, often in relation to the evil zombie gangs under the command of the Nameless Zombie Priest. The series has a distinctly paranormal slant, with the average story concerning ghosts, ghouls, skunk-apes, extra-dimensional aliens, and mad scientists.
Watch the teaser below!
As always, we at Luma are suckers for a good “behind the scenes.” So check out this AMAZING short film and the incredible amount of work that went into “Something left, Something taken!” Well done!

If I mention the word “Boom Shaka Laka” and an excited chill runs through your body, well then read on my friend from some amazing behind the scenes of this new remake of NBA Jam!
Luma Animation and Ogilvy Johannesburg teamed up to create one of the first Stereoscopic 3D Cinema commercials in South Africa for the DStv brand. Read on to see behind the scenes!
So after you have directed Pirates of The Caribbean, what is next? Well Rango of course!

We created these characters for a client, but nothing happened so I thought instead of letting good art go to waste, lets share it with the world!

Luma Arcade has been getting a lot of attention regarding a tech demo that they developed in-house for Microsoft called the Harvest, which was used by Microsoft at GDC and MIX10 in San Francisco and Las Vegas earlier this month to promote the newly announced Windows Phone 7 Series. It was built on Luma’s in-house 3D rendering engine built on the XNA Game Studio 4.0 framework. The Harvest runs on what Microsoft is calling the ”Three Screens”, namely the Xbox360, Windows PC and the new Windows Phone 7 Series. More to come, so watch this space! Take a look at some of the inside scoop from Slashgear, Engadget and AnandTech.

GENRE: ACTION RPG
In the game world, the player must fight through the decayed remnants of an ancient holy city many years after a vicious alien invasion in order to save what is left of humanity.

Got this link from Dale – he’s busy putting together a bike of his own (we’re putting pressure on him to post his progress somewhere) – Beautiful graphics beautifully printed. Lovely attention to detail with a touch of sexiness. Check out silencetv.
